PEOPLE & COLOR / May - September 2018 / Not for Sale
This collection of work emphatically titled “People and Color” represents my view of a “person of color.” This body of work was inspired in 2018 through many social interactions and with the goal of pushing the narrative of equality forward. All of the people consisting in this series had a impact or inspiration on me as person, in one time or another. I believe a person of color is not defined by the their skin tone, rather their personality and energy.
One of my biggest inspirations for this body of work came through my weekly discussions with my good friend Vernon Maxwell Foster. I am very grateful for our friendship which allows us to speak openly with one another about real issues, emotions, and our growth as friends and people. Below you can listen to what played a major role in inspiring me to create this body of work.
