WHY
I am a self-taught inter-disciplinary artist. I get most of my inspiration in life itself. My first medium is people, a gift passed down to me by my father. I have always been a creative person throughout my life, however it was not until 2015 that I began to pursue art professionally. Creating and painting became a focal point in my life in 2013 especially when I began to use Art as a therapeutic device. I met my partner and soul-mate Jennifer Columbus in 2014. She is an amazingly talented artist in her own right, her website link is below. Jenny has served as my greatest inspiration/muse. I am beyond grateful for the life we have built in Art, and for the eternal bond we share in Love. I paint in-part to pay tribute to my father, with every creation I pay tribute to him, and carry on his legacy to “Live with Love.”
HOW
When I am creating, the goal with my art practice is to get to a transformative dimension. The goal is to tap into my subconscious and feel un-confined by the restraints of the “Material World.” It is in this state of being, I can access my full creative potential and enter a flow state. I often find myself in a joyful and happy environment when creating, sometimes with music, as it is a great source of inspiration for me. In my painting practice I like to explore a variety of techniques for drawing, abstraction, and mark making with a variety of tools (i.e. brushes, palette knives, and my hands) I also like to explore using different mediums like marker, pen, collage, photography, and oils, however mainly focus on acrylic and aerosol. My artwork is often received with the happy and positive energy it is created with.
